About The Company

Windmill Microlending is a national charity founded in 2005. We empower skilled immigrants and refugees, including physicians, nurses, engineers and more, to restart their careers and contribute to Canada’s economy. Through affordable loans of up to $15,000 and tailored supports such as coaching, financial literacy training and mentorship, Windmill helps newcomers overcome barriers to professional employment. Windmill is a diverse and values-driven organization: led by a female CEO, over half of leadership comes from underrepresented groups and 70% of staff were born outside Canada, bringing lived experience to the mission. In 2025, Windmill celebrated 20 years of impact.
